Please, please, please.

Yesterday, a friend directed me to a few ads for John Lewis, a department store in the UK. (It was weird to me at first cause it sounded like an ad for a person, but then I realized all department stores are just peoples’ names).

This one from 2011 featured a cover of The Smiths’ “Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want” by Slow Moving Millie. Very fitting for Christmas.

It inspired me to do a cover of my own, which I did tonight, whence I discovered that I covered this song 3 years ago in 2011. I posted both on my Soundcloud which I’ll also share here:

Who knew that Brits are so sentimental? Here’s another tearjerking ad, this time from the chocolate brand, Sainsbury.

Apparently this was “inspired by real events from 100 years ago.” Wars are terrible.

Since Thanksgiving was a bit of a lull for me this year, I’m already ready for Christmas. I’ve started my Christmas playlist and even wrapped my first present today. I usually get into the Christmas spirit a week or two before the holidays (I’m lazy), but this year I really can’t wait.
